Abstract:

The Collaborating Across Boundaries (CAB) model is predicated on the idea that interdisciplinary collaboration emphasizes problem-solving in a gender-neutral, culturally and ethnically diverse community, and provides an engaging learning environment in which students solve real problems as a collaborative community with their peers from other disciplines, and a community partner. This year’s event features a panel discussion with non-TCNJ and TCNJ faculty members involved in such collaborations, with the intent of sharing more broadly with the TCNJ community, different types of cross-disciplinary collaborative experiences, benefits to students, rewards for faculty, and challenges that may arise. We will also share information about how you can get involved, and the kinds of support that are available at TCNJ for faculty who would like to offer collaborative courses in the CAB model.
